BOWHEAD SEVENS
Most wheelchair casters simply aren't built strong and durable enough to stand up to daily use. Bowhead has designed and engineered the Bowhead Sevens to help you avoid caster disaster.
According to data from the Wheelchair Repair Registry (WRR), a national US database for mobility device failures and repairs, roughly 25% of all wheelchair failures has to do with the caster wheels. Bowhead has adopted the ISO 7176-32 Caster Standard and have a caster testing machine to ensure our Seven’s caster wheels are the strongest, most reliable caster wheels available for manual wheelchairs.
Bowhead uses Enduro SS6810 bearings with 440C stainless steel balls and races in our Seven’s wheelchair casters to provide long life and superior corrosion resistance in environments that may be less than ideal. 440C has the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all the stainless alloys that other bearing manufacturers use. 440C stainless steel has a higher Carbon content giving it maximum hardness and corrosion resistance. Our Seven’s caster bearings employ LLB type seals and CRC Marine Grease to additionally water proof them against the elements. When the rain won’t go away, and your wheelchair seems more often to be used as a boat you’ll be happy we made this call.
