Christian Bagg

Christian Bagg is a Calgary born inventor and mechanical designer. Injured in 1996, while snowboarding, Christian broke his back and was paralyzed from the waist down.  Using his background as a machinist, he starting inventing his way around the challenges he faced.  With a love for the outdoors and a passion for problem solving, he has spent the last 20 years designing and building adaptive equipment. What started as a way to solve his own problems grew into an outlet to help others experience the very outdoors that he loves so much.  Sharing his story has helped Christian establish partnerships with government agencies, private corporations and post-secondary education institutions, all with the belief that “everyone belongs outside.”

DEAN MILLER

CO-FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, & CEO

Dean Miller

Dean Miller spent 35+ years in the computer technology and software tools and business applications industries, managing successful development, corporate, marketing, and sales teams for Digital Research, Symantec Corporation, Compuware, and Hitachi. He co-founded The Steadfast Foundation with son Ryan, and started an adaptive mobility reselling organization in 2006 with his cousin Joel, who had experienced a serious spinal cord injury. It was through that business Dean met Christian Bagg and the two decided to start Bowhead. While born in Canada, Miller manages the company from Bowhead’s office in Michigan.

ROGER MCPHERSON

V.P. ENGINEERING, P.Eng

Roger McPherson

Roger grew up in the rural area around Cochrane Alberta and received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc in Biomechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Professionally, Roger has had a long career in product design and manufacturing as both a design engineer and as a manager of engineering teams. Roger started his career in the medical device industry and spent 10 years in California developing powered surgical devices. Feeling homesick for Canada, Roger and his family moved back to Calgary where he eventually joined on with Chariot Carriers which later became a part of the Thule Group where he led the talented Calgary ‘Active with Kids’ team that launched multiple award-winning products. Looking for something new and exciting, Roger feels truly fortunate to have the opportunity to bring his experience to Bowhead and work with this diverse and talented team to grow and succeed with Bowhead’s amazing line of products.

Away from work, Roger is a life-long player and fan of our national pastime, but as well enjoys all other sports, outdoor activities and spending time with his family. More recently, Roger has gained a passion for restoration of vintage motorcycles and cars and is always on the lookout for his next project.

LARRY TRUDEAU

MANAGER OF MANUFACTURING DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION

Larry Trudeau

Larry grew up in the rocky mountains of southern Alberta. His love of the outdoors started at a very young age, he would often be out in the bush with his father who was a logger. He gained a great appreciation for the outdoors through activities like biking, hiking, fishing, camping, skiing, and snowmobiling. After graduating High school in 1978  Larry moved to Calgary to attend SAIT for a trade in welding and fabrication. Since receiving his red seal, Larry has worked in Fabrication shops, manufacturing plants as well as ship yards on the west coast of BC.In 2007 he took a job in the faculty of engineering for the University of Calgary as a fabrication technician. Larry has helped researchers with their designs as well as being a faculty advisor for the formula and solar car teams. It is at the University where he met Christian. Ready for a challenge and a change Larry joined the Bowhead team in the summer of 2020.

TATIANA PLACE

WHEELCHAIRS PRODUCT MANAGER

Tatiana Place

Tatiana is a recent graduate from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta. Her specialization in Biomedical engineering and initial student internship with Bowhead Corp in 2019 ignited her love for designing and manufacturing adaptive equipment. During her internship with Bowhead, Tatiana donated her hair in a fundraising effort to provide a REACH cycle for a local Calgarian mother longing to get back exploring trails with her son. Tatiana also completed an internship in Brazil working in various hospitals and gaining experience repairing clinical and surgical equipment. When she is not studying or travelling, Tatiana can often be found hiking in the Rocky Mountains, running and biking through the city’s river valley, or slowing things down with a peaceful yoga session. Combining her passion for outdoor recreation, healthy living, and biomedical solutions, Tatiana has found a home with Bowhead Corp where she intends to continue helping as many individuals as possible regain the freedom and independence they deserve.

SANKET PATIL

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER IN TRAINING

Sanket is a mechanical engineer in training with a master's degree in design. He moved to Calgary a couple of years ago and fell in love with the Rockies. He enjoys designing outdoor products and was a part of the Thule team that created an award winning, premium city stroller. He previously worked in the medical devices industry and has handled varied projects related to class II medical devices. He was attracted by the unique adaptive biking experience provided by the REACH and joined the Bowhead team to contribute to the product design and development. An arm-chair philosopher and a bibliophile, he likes to read ancient Indian philosophy and history.

ADAM PRICE

MEDIA MANAGER

Adam Price

Adam Price is Canadian born but raised on tea and biscuit in Southern England now settling in Calgary Alberta. Adam is an avid mountain biker. Who enjoys long bike rides in the Rocky Mountains but prefers to ride downhills than uphill. After graduating with a Bachelors of Art in Product Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University Adam travelled the length of New Zealand mountain biking recreationally and in competitions. He then moved to Squamish BC where he has lived for the past 6 years where was employed to do advertising operations. He now has been taken under our roof to help tackle our marketing. 

SALLY STANIER

BIKES PRODUCT MANAGER

Sally began working with Bowhead during her senior year university practicum where she studied Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies with a focus on adaptive sports. Growing up in the mountains of Canmore, she developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and sports such as skiing, biking, climbing, camping, or anything that gets into the mountains! Through working at summer camps as well as surf camps in South Africa, she learned about the positive impacts that sports and time spent outside has on individuals, and the importance of creating equal opportunities for everyone. Combining her passion for mountain biking and adaptive solutions, Sally has found a home with Bowhead. Her mission is to bring these values to the disability community and help individuals and non-profits access the opportunities, equipment and independence they deserve. 

BRYNNE NOBLE

MARKETING & INSIDE SALES MANAGER

Brynne Noble

Brynne graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Communications after exploring various other degrees and having lots of fun in the process! She and her husband live in Michigan, have the cutest Golden Retriever son ever named Walter, and are expecting their first human child this fall. Previous work experience has included charity fundraising, sales, and marketing in the adaptive mobility industry which lead her to Bowhead Corp.

CAITLIN LOPEZ, P.Eng.

Caitlin, an operational excellence nerd/expert, with a major in Manufacturing Engineering and 15 years of industry experience. As Operations Manager, Caitlin leads the operations team to be world-class in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and safety.

DAVE SAGAL

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Dave Sagal

Born in Saskatchewan Dave permanently moved to Calgary in the fall of 2009 always having a passion for sports he pursued a career in the golf industry. In fall of 2017 adventure called and Dave went to New Zealand where he worked at a surf camp and played rugby. He was about to return back to New Zealand for a second season when a snowboarding injury in 2019 left him with a SCI.

Dave rode a Bowhead for the first time 18 months after his injury and realized what a life changing piece of equipment it was.  Dave helped fundraise and donate a RX to Rocky Mountain Adaptive  where he went on to work with them building their adaptive bike program  as BICP Level 2 instructor.  Dave is also a member of Bowhead's 2023 sport development team and started as a volunteer with Bowhead in fall of 2022 and accepted a position as Volunteer Coordinator in January 2023.

TUCKER SCOREY

BIKE TEAM LEAD

Tucker Scorey

Born and raised in Calgary, Tucker is a red seal cabinetmaker with 8 years experience in trade building high quality mill work. As an outdoor enthusiast, his hobbies include: bikes, snowboarding, climbing, fishing, and camping year round. Taking his Jeep and wheeling into the outback with family and friends is a priority in Tucker's life.

Since joining Bowhead Tucker has been able to utilize his skills in new and unique ways. Everyday is a new learning experience, filled with amazing opportunities.
