Dimensions & Weight
-
The Nano seat height is 15″ from the ground when the wheels are in the upright position. When used with the optional 2″ Nano Cushion, the total floor-to-seat height is approximately 17″.
This height was intentionally selected to support safe and practical transfers across common environments:
Standard airline seats: 17–19″
Standard residential toilets: 15–16″
ADA-compliant toilets: 17–19″
Typical manual wheelchair seat heights: 16–19″
By sitting within this range, the Nano allows users to transfer between airline seats, toilets, and wheelchairs with minimal height difference, helping reduce effort and improve stability during transfers.
Safety & Functionality
-
Yes, it has two rear brakes, one on each wheel, which allow for independent locking and unlocking.
-
No, and that’s by design. The Nano was intentionally created without straps to keep the chair clean, streamlined, and easy to maneuver in tight environments like airplane aisles, narrow hallways, and compact washrooms. Without straps, there’s nothing to snag, tangle, or slow you down during transfers or boarding.
The Nano is built as a temporary mobility solution for specific use cases such as air travel, tight indoor access, and shower or washroom positioning. Once stationary, including during shower use, you can place your feet flat on the ground in a stable, ergonomic position for added comfort and control.
-
Armrests were removed to allow freedom of movement for your arms while navigating various environments. This makes it easier to push, steer, and transfer.
-
Yes. The Nano provides excellent rearward and lateral stability. The wheels can be splayed to 45° or 90° to increase stability for shower use or floor-to-chair transfers.
-
No. The Nano is designed to remain stable in wet environments. With wheels splayed to 45° and both brakes engaged, the chair stays securely in place.
-
Yes. The Nano includes integrated drainage holes to allow water to flow through and prevent pooling during shower use.
-
The Nano does not include a cushion as standard. However, a cushion designed specifically for the Nano is available for purchase. It is made from advanced 3D-printed material that promotes airflow, facilitates drainage, supports quick drying, and provides comfort.
-
Regular maintenance helps keep your Nano safe, reliable, and ready when you need it most. We recommend performing quick checks before each use, periodic inspections of fasteners, wheels, and brakes, and routine cleaning. Please refer to the Nano User Manual for detailed maintenance schedules and instructions.
Shower & Water Use
-
Potentially, depending on your abilities. The Nano does not require core strength to operate, but you should be able to independently transfer and shower to use the chair safely.
-
The Nano is designed for airplanes, coach-style buses, hotels, showers, and travel-related environments. Its lightweight, compact design makes it ideal for boarding, deplaning, and short-term mobility and accessibility needs.
